The Why and How of Lumineers®

Posted .

Here at Trailridge Family Dental, Dr. Allan Stevenson and our wonderful staff are accomplished in the procedure of fitting your teeth with special dental veneers called Lumineers®. If you are thinking of installing dental veneers in your smile, Lumineers are unquestionably your best option.

And why is that, exactly? Well, getting traditional veneers mean shaving off quite a bit of your natural tooth enamel. To fit a Lumineer, however, this is barely needed if at all. This is because Lumineers are ultra-thin and translucent, replicating the look of your enamel. But don’t worry; that doesn’t mean that they are weak. In fact, quite the opposite; they are so durable that they can last twice as long as the average lifespan of a dental veneer.

To place these amazing veneers on your teeth, Allan Stevenson will create a detailed mold of your teeth called an impression. Then you will decide what shade of white is best for you. This impression will then be sent to a dental lab. When your Lumineers are ready, we will bring you back in for a second visit. This shouldn’t last more than an hour.

We will first double-check that your Lumineers are the right fit and then bond them to your teeth one by one. We will then check your bite to make sure they are balanced. Then you can go about your daily activities with a stunning and healthy smile. Would you like to learn more? Call us in Parma, Idaho at 208.806.0765 to set up an appointment today!
